We want Coweta County to take a stand and say:
Not in our community!

Who we are:

We are a 50+ person strong community coalition working to address substance abuse prevention in Coweta County. Our coalition is made up of local legislators, business leaders, educators, law enforcement officers, counselors, parents, medical staff and concerned citizens. Our current focus is the opioid epidemic.

What we are doing:

We are working to prevent opioid misuse through a focus on three key areas: developing guidelines for prescribers; implementing opioid prevention curriculum in our community and in our middle and high schools; encouraging all families and individuals to “lock up” medications and safely dispose of them.

Why it matters:

The opioid epidemic is claiming the lives of young and old across the country. Coweta County is no exception.

A recent study commissioned by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities found our county to be ranked #6 out of 159 counties in Georgia for opioid abuse and misuse. This is not a list we want to lead! Opioid addiction and misuse are preventable through education and action.

We want Coweta County to take a stand and say: Not in our community!
